An international expert consensus-building two-day workshop, supported by the United Kingdom’s Medical Research Council and the National Institutes of Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation of the United States was held in September 2015 in London. The 42 participants from four countries were selected to include those who develop, evaluate, use, and fund DBCIs for both research and practical purposes.
