News and Perspectives from JMIR Publications brings you its latest webinar, “The Quantified Self Revisited: What Can Wearable Data Really Tell Us?”

The quantified self movement has evolved and consumers want more interpretation and more guidance from their wearables. This evolution is making it necessary for the wearables industry to address the gap between data and interpretation—and, ultimately, to move further into medical device territory to stay competitive. Join MedTech expert Blythe Karow and guest speakers Kenneth Civello, a cardiologist, electrophysiologist, and consumer wearables expert and Allison Komiyama, founder of Bluestocking Health, a company amplifying innovative MedTech, for a conversation on what this shift will mean for physicians, patients, consumers, and the wearables industry as a whole.

Key Takeaways

  • Focus on Actionable Interpretation: Consumers want clear guidance and context, not just raw health metrics.
  • Transition Toward Medical Devices: Wearable companies may have to cross into clinical territory to bridge the data-interpretation gap and remain competitive.
  • Transform the Health Ecosystem: This evolution reshapes how health data is managed and integrated across physicians, patients, and MedTech.
