Faculty Position at Full Professor Level

The Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) at NTU, Singapore, was founded in 1992 and has grown to become the region’s leading institution providing world-class education, and producing top-notch research in communication and information studies. In 2006, the School established an endowment fund of S$30 million to support a wide range of educational and research activities. Extensive research, teaching and production facilities help to keep faculty and students at the leading edge of their disciplines.

WKWSCI has over 50 full-time faculty members with diverse backgrounds and coming from renowned universities. The School enrols more than 500 graduate students and 700 undergraduates who are among the best from Singapore’s competitive educational system, and internationally. WKWSCI invites qualified academics to apply for the Full Professor position in Health Informatics for the 2012/2013 academic year.

The successful candidate should possess an outstanding research and publication record in the field of health or biomedical informatics. The area of expertise could include, but is not limited to, health information systems and clinical decision support systems, or medical text mining, information extraction and biomedical ontologies, or ehealth, health 2.0 and consumer health information seeking. The candidate is expected to develop research grant proposals and lead research initiatives in health/biomedical informatics, develop research collaborations with the NTU Medical School and other biomedical institutions in Singapore, as well as teach graduate and undergraduate courses in health informatics.
