Numerous studies have endorsed telehealth as a supplementary approach to in-person care for managing chronic diseases [14]. However, the effectiveness of telehealth as a replacement for face-to-face care in patients with chronic conditions remains unclear [15,16]. In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic transformed medical care through telemedicine with a demand for remote health care and telehealth [17,18].

Studies indicate that concerns about quality of care and depersonalization can negatively influence acceptance of telehealth technology by residents and their families [50,72,84,85]. According to some managers (12/27, 44%), buy-in from residents, families, and resident committees was a facilitator of the implementation of teleconsultation. The managers observed that transparent communication and regular meetings with these stakeholders helped establish a climate of trust.
