Superusers’ Engagement in Asthma Online Communities: Asynchronous Web-Based Interview Study
Although the superuser role could be stressful at times, most HCPs were unaware of superusers’ engagement with OHCs and therefore unable to provide support. This is also in contrast with the general agreement among superusers that patient engagement with trusted and thriving OHCs should be promoted within health care.

Do superusers write their posts uniformly over time or do they produce peaks of activity separated by periods of inactivity?
For how long do superusers remain active in an online community?
Are superusers help-seekers or help-givers?
Do superusers preferentially write posts to each other or to users who write relatively few posts?
Is there any association between users’ interaction patterns and their potential for enhancing peer self-management support in the community?

As a first step in profiling actors based on characteristics, and to investigate the feasibility of developing predictive models that identify superusers in real time, the objective of this study was to examine the association between number of posts and actor demographic and indication-specific variables inputted at registration.
Data were extracted from the custom SQL DHSN databases of the 4 digital health interventions.

This 90%, 9%, and 1% are also known as Lurkers, Contributors, and Superusers, respectively [32].
Since healthy adherers and Superusers tend to be the primary contributors to community-based tools, a concern is that interventions are mainly utilized by healthy adherers, individuals who are already highly engaged in healthy behaviors [33-34]. However, it is also possible that in community-based platforms, Superusers may influence those who are less active.
