Evaluating In-Car Movements in the Design of Mindful Commute Interventions: Exploratory Study

The latter occurs in a city downtown area with multiple cars with moderate aggressiveness and a limited number of pedestrians. The vibrotactile seat was designed using forty-one 50 d B, 13000±3000 rotations per minute, 2 V to 3.6 V linear resonant actuator vibration motors arranged in a grid covering an area of about 20×26 inches (see Figures 1-4). Motors were 3 inches apart horizontally and 4 inches apart vertically (see Figure 4). The grid area was chosen after testing different body shapes.
