Inhalation therapy, acting directly on the lungs, offers advantages such as rapid onset, low dosage requirements, and minimal side effects [5], making it the primary treatment approach for respiratory conditions like COPD and asthma [6,7].
The efficacy of inhalation therapy relies on the correct use of inhalers [8,9], yet many patients with COPD and asthma struggle with proper technique.

Both COPD and the combined COPD-asthma group had higher nicotine dependence than the asthma group, while COPD patients reported better appetite compared with those in asthma and combined COPD-asthma groups (all P
In the low e Health literacy group, 8 disease pair comparisons were significant only within this subgroup. The combined COPD-asthma group had lower perceived stress and self-efficacy compared with both asthma and COPD groups, and reduced social support and resilience relative to the asthma group.

Asthma is a chronic respiratory condition characterized by airway inflammation and obstruction [1], affecting an estimated 262 million people in 2019 worldwide [2]. In the United States, asthma prevalence has increased since the early 1980s, reaching 7.8% in 2020 [3]. Uncontrolled asthma poses a significant health risk to patients and an economic burden to society [4]. Achieving and maintaining asthma control is critical for preventing asthma exacerbation [5].

Although 5.4 million people are receiving treatment for asthma in the United Kingdom [1], an estimated 2.17 million have uncontrolled asthma, meaning a greater disruption in everyday activities and a higher risk of an asthma attack [2]. Poor asthma control has a major impact on the use of health care services, accounting for 2% to 3% of the primary care consultations, 60,000 hospital admissions, and 200,000 bed days per year in the United Kingdom [1].

Asthma is the most common childhood chronic illness in the United States, affecting >5 million children [1], and is a leading cause of emergency department and urgent care visits [2], school absences [3,4], and reduced quality of life among youth [5,6]. The National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) guidelines are designed to prevent and reduce pediatric asthma morbidity via disseminating state of the science guidance to health care providers on asthma diagnosis and management [7].

As described in our previous work [10], data were collected by Health Unlocked [27], the platform provider of the Asthma UK (AUK) and British Lung Foundation (BLF) communities. In both communities, registered users can choose to either write posts publicly or send private posts to one another. In the latter case, posts are shared between 2 users only, whereas when posts are written publicly, other users can become connected through threads of posts.

However, the current status of asthma management in China is far from satisfactory.
Asthma control is defined as the level to which the various manifestations of asthma have been reduced or eliminated by treatment [3]. As it is closely linked to patients’ health status, the achievement of good asthma control has been set as the key element that drives patient management [3-6].

Asthma is a highly prevalent inflammatory disease, affecting over 300 million people worldwide [1]. Asthma symptoms, including coughing, wheezing, and shortness of breath, are the result of several different pathological processes, resulting in the constriction of smooth muscle cells in the airways, which causes a reversible airflow obstruction [2]. To locally target the inflammatory component of asthma, inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) were developed, and they are still the mainstay of asthma therapy [3].
