Which Combinations of Techniques and Modes of Delivery in Internet-Based Interventions Effectively Change Health Behavior? A Meta-Analysis

One exception is Webb et al [3], who examined the effectiveness of online interventions using a taxonomy of BCTs adapted from Abraham and Michie [9]. Webb et al [3] found, based on univariate analyses, that several BCTs were associated with larger than average effect sizes. Specifically, stress management and general communication skills training had the strongest positive effects, while emotion control training and providing information about others’ approval were not effective.
