Technological State of the Art of Electronic Mental Health Interventions for Major Depressive Disorder: Systematic Literature Review

Technological State of the Art of Electronic Mental Health Interventions for Major Depressive Disorder: Systematic Literature Review

The first author, with a cognitive science background, screened all records at the title, abstract, and full-text stages (see PRISMA [13] diagram in Figure 1). A second, independent coder, with a computer science background, double coded a random selection at each stage. Intercoder agreement ranged from 80% to 84%, with moderate-to-substantial intercoder reliability (Cohen kappa between 0.50 and 0.69). Multimedia Appendix 2 includes a complete list of all 270 articles included in the final synthesis.

Design and Evaluation of Personalized Motivational Messages by a Virtual Agent that Assists in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Therapy

Design and Evaluation of Personalized Motivational Messages by a Virtual Agent that Assists in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Therapy

To calculate the likelihood of a statement type occurring in the motivational answer given a certain situation, the data were analyzed with R 3.3. First, it was noted whether a statement type was present for every motivational answer given by the experts.

Self-Monitoring Kidney Function Post Transplantation: Reliability of Patient-Reported Data

Self-Monitoring Kidney Function Post Transplantation: Reliability of Patient-Reported Data

Furthermore, giving patients a more active role in their own care through self-monitoring has been shown to be of clinical benefit for a wide range of patients with chronic disease [6-15] and to lead to a higher quality of life [16-19]and more patient empowerment [7,19-22]. A pilot study of our own group showed that self-monitoring of both blood pressure and creatinine is very well accepted among patients, suggesting that at-home monitoring after transplantation offers a promising strategy [23].

Mobile Phone-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia: A Randomized Waitlist Controlled Trial

Mobile Phone-Delivered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia: A Randomized Waitlist Controlled Trial

To bridge this gap, we conducted a randomized controlled trial to compare a group using a CCBT-I-based app with a waitlist control group. We expected that this app would have an ameliorating effect on insomnia severity and sleep impairment compared with the waitlist control group, assessed by a sleep diary. The app offered a sleep diary, a relaxation exercise, sleep restriction exercise, and sleep hygiene and education.

Deriving Requirements for Pervasive Well-Being Technology From Work Stress and Intervention Theory: Framework and Case Study

Deriving Requirements for Pervasive Well-Being Technology From Work Stress and Intervention Theory: Framework and Case Study

Based upon this information, we aim to develop a system with a suite of support apps that are context aware (ie, optimally adapted to the situation and state of the user). Knowledge workers can then directly act, gaining a more healthy work style, preventing stress building up, and curing stress-related problems like neck pain or headaches. An app could also provide a platform to come into contact with peers for support.

Adherence to Technology-Mediated Insomnia Treatment: A Meta-Analysis, Interviews, and Focus Groups

Adherence to Technology-Mediated Insomnia Treatment: A Meta-Analysis, Interviews, and Focus Groups

The studies in this paper are conducted in the context of the Sleepcare project [22,23], which aims at the development of a virtual sleep coach that delivers personalized, automated sleep therapy via a mobile phone. A key challenge of this e-coach is to provide therapy support in such a way that the coachees really adhere to the regimen of the personal therapy plan.
