Scoping Review on Search Queries and Social Media for Disease Surveillance: A Chronology of Innovation

We conducted a thematic analysis of all identified review and case study articles (n=19) to determine the important characteristics, considerations, and challenges regarding the use of social media for infectious disease surveillance. Thematic analysis is a method of qualitative synthesis that involves the identification of key and recurrent themes and concepts from a body of literature [14].
