LEAP members were from a diverse range of ethnic backgrounds (groupings in this paper were based on free text descriptions of their ethnic identity, which were then mapped to Office for National Statistics Census Categories [14][Asian or British Asian background: n=3; Black African background n=1; White background: n=6]). LEAP members completed the Penn State Worry Questionnaire (PSWQ) [15] to indicate their level of worry.

The majority of participants were White females with a bachelor’s degree or above (Table 1). Based on participant responses to onboarding questions, we found that, as compared with the BRFSS [19] or the NHANES [20], participants had similar BMI distributions, but were more likely to consume alcohol frequently. Participants were also more likely to report feeling tired and little pleasure in doing things and were less likely to report “excellent” self-rated health.
