Women with substance use disorders (SUDs) are particularly vulnerable to HIV transmission due to the greater likelihood of engaging in vaginal or anal sex without using a condom, concurrent sexual relationships, sex in exchange for drugs, money, or other items, and sexual coercion from experiencing sexual abuse or assault by intimate partners [2-6].
