Sponsorship information: Theme issues and supplements
We are also offering the possibility to sponsor entire theme issues (e.g. mobile devices, disease management, behaviour change applications, Web 2.0 applications etc.). Articles in theme issues are fully peer-reviewed and undergo a normal editorial process.
While the sponsor of a theme issue has no influence on the selection of articles and content of the theme issue, the sponsors' name will be prominently associated with the issue, with a free "life-long" advertising banner on each webpage of the online issue. Sponsorship of a theme issue requires covering the article processing fee, which is $500 per article. To sponsor a whole issue, the costs will range between US$ 5000 and US$ 15000, depending on the number of articles. The sponsor may also support the production of a printed version, e.g. for distribution at conferences or other events, which may carry a prominent 4-color ad of the sponsor on the back cover.
For forthcoming theme issues see Announcements.
Supplements are different from theme issues in that articles in supplements are usually compiled and edited by third parties rather than by JMIR (although exceptions are possible). We currently only produce supplements with abstracts only, no full papers (as publication of full papers has a negative effect on the Impact Factor).
Abstracts in supplements may or may not be peer-reviewed, and may or may not be copyedited. Supplements are ideal for example for conference organizers to publish proceedings, abstract books, post conference documentations, etc. Supplements may be electronic only, or may be published in electronic and print form. To enquire about costs, please contact us with the information 1) the topic of the supplement; 2) process on selection / editing / copyediting / peer-reviewing of the articles/abstracts, and whether you need the services of JMIR in this process; 3) how many articles / pages you expect; 4) whether you wish a printed supplement, or online only. A rough formula to calculate the approximate costs for an supplement (electronic only) is US$50 per abstract.
To order / enquire send an email to us with subject line "JMIR sponsorship inquiry".
